The blockbuster film 'Dhurandhar' is returning to cinemas worldwide on a massive scale ahead of its highly anticipated sequel 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' premiere, marking a rare global re-release event.

Blockbuster Returns to the Big Screen

Fans of high-octane spy thrillers are in for a treat as the original 'Dhurandhar' storms back into theatres worldwide, just days before its sequel hits screens.

This strategic re-release kicks off in India on March 12 across about 250 screens, expanding overseas starting March 13 with another 250, totaling around 500 screens globally.

In North America alone, nearly 185 screens will showcase the film, highlighting the franchise's massive international pull.

What makes this event stand out is how rare such worldwide re-releases are for Hindi films, turning it into a landmark moment that underscores the enduring popularity of the first instalment.

Building Hype for 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge'

The timing couldn't be more perfect, with 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' set to premiere worldwide on March 19, 2026, coinciding with festive occasions like Gudi Padwa and Ugadi, right before Eid.

Special Wednesday premiere shows on March 18 in the USA and Canada, mostly on premium large format screens with Dolby Atmos sound and luxury seating, are already selling out fast.

This move allows audiences to refresh their memory of the original story on the big screen before diving into the next chapter, creating a back-to-back cinematic experience.

Presented by Jio Studios and produced by B62 Studios, the sequel promises even more intense action as it continues the saga of unknown men in a gripping spy thriller.

Behind the Success of the Franchise

At the heart of 'Dhurandhar' is Ranveer Singh's powerhouse performance as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, supported by a stellar cast including Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi.

Directed, written, and produced by Aditya Dhar, with Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar on production duties, the film originally released on December 5, 2025, and quickly became a box office juggernaut.

It raked in over Rs. 1215 crore worldwide, with around Rs. 950 crore from India, cementing its status as the highest-grossing Hindi film ever.

The re-release, spanning over 1250 shows across more than 1000 screens in some reports, is billed as the biggest of its kind, reflecting unmatched audience demand.

"The Ghatak Roar returns! We're thrilled to bring 'Dhurandhar' back to cinemas worldwide starting March 13, giving fans a chance to relive the epic before 'The Revenge' unleashes on March 19. This is the biggest re-release ever, on 1250+ shows across 1000+ screens," said a Jio Studios spokesperson.

The original film's gripping narrative of shadowy operatives and high-stakes missions captivated viewers, blending edge-of-your-seat action with strong storytelling.

Its lasting buzz, even months later, speaks to why the makers are capitalizing on this momentum with a limited six-day run for the re-release.

This re-release not only reignites the frenzy around Ranveer Singh's iconic role but also sets the stage for what could be another record-breaking chapter in the franchise. With multilingual releases in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' aims to broaden its reach even further.

The global theatrical push, from immersive PLF screenings to widespread availability, signals confidence in the sequel's potential to dominate box offices once more.

In summary, 'Dhurandhar's worldwide re-release is a bold celebration of its legacy, priming audiences for the explosive sequel while showcasing the franchise's unparalleled draw across continents and cultures.
